How well do you know your own music collection?

Korneel De Feyter on August 22nd 2010, 14:35

Well, you’re about to find out! Microsoft apparently released a new app a few days ago called Music Quiz. The name says quit it. In the game you can choose between a ‘mega mix‘, which uses your whole collection, and ‘custom mix‘ which enables you to choose an artist, playlist or genre. Of course there is a difficulty setting, you can either select normal or hardcore.

There are a few different types of questions according to the learn to play-guide:

  • Listen to a music clip and identify the song’s title, artist or album.
  • Watch as the album art is slowly revealed and guess the album’s name or artist.
  • Pick the song or album that doesn’t have something in common with the others

The faster you can answer each question, the more points you will get. Use the hint button if you get stuck.

It’s interesting that although we don’t have an open app store, Microsoft provides its users every once in a while a new app. I wonder how this process goes. Is there someone responsible for providing new apps to the Marketplace or do they just make new ones whenever someone gets a good idea?

Beneath you find a gallery with some images you’ll also find in the Marketplace under the apps-section.

2 new apps in Zune Marketplace

Korneel De Feyter on August 1st 2010, 22:36

Microsoft released two new apps and an update for the Twitter app three days ago. The Twitter update finally fixes some minor bugs who were still present. The first one is Animalgrams, a word game in which you have to create as many words you can with the letters of an animal name. The second is MSN money is “the comprehensive source for your money and personal finance needs. Read business news, get stock quotes, research investments, convert currencies, and track your watchlist.

You can download both apps freely from the Zune Marketplace — both on your Zune HD itself as from the desktop version.

HelloFromEurope Exclusive Content

Anthony Papousek on February 11th 2010, 05:27

I am happy to announce that HelloFromEurope will soon have exclusive looks at upcoming games for the Zune HD platform. These games will be built with the XNA framework, and will not install in the traditional manner. The programmer, Zuner2012 is very excited about this platform. After interviewing him, he commented, “Hello From Europe will be getting alot of new content that other sites just won’t have.” Here is a look at one of his games, Zune Vs. iPod in it’s early development days.
Zuner2012 had ALOT of help from LeeNRo(c)K Studios in early development days. I got a personal sneak peek at a newer Zune HD version, and am quite impressed.
